MARIA TERESA RONCA,
Artist
CREATION
M.T.RONCA

Italian
born and lived in Montreal since the age of six and now living and practicing what she loves best in her home in the Laurentians,
north of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Maria
Teresa is better known for her passionate self- expression of creating ceramic objects, utilitarian and collectors- items,
bought by tourists that come to Montreal or the Laurentians from the United States or Europe and other parts of Canada.

Her
other skills are: WATERCOLOURS, FINE HAND PAINTED FURNITURE AND ACCESSORIES, FAUX-FINISH AND FREE-HAND PAINTED MURALS, FLOORCLOTHS MADE WITH DURABLE CANVAS = ART ON THE
FLOOR, MIXED-MEDIA PAINTINGS IN ACRYLICS,
COLLAGES, LACES AND CERAMIC FLOWERS.

Her
irresistible decorative CERAMIC objects more sought are: –
VASES,
BOWLS, PLATES, WALL- PLATES, WALL CLOCKS, TEAPOTS WITH CUPS AND SAUCERS, JUGS and many other objects.
The
variety of styles and the intricate shapes and forms that the artist gives as she creates what she says is a love affair between
her and her self-expressed art. Her perception at that moment expressed with imprints of laces and application of sculpted-free-hand-made
flowers, and/or fruits; often with written love verses which will play well with the intense or subtle watercolor effects.
A
variety of table lamps that she loves to do with the help of her husband Joseph.
Apple or pear base table lamps, sugar bowl lamps, chicken lamps teapot and coffeepot
lamps and many others.
What
stands apart from the conventional table lamps is that her lampshades are custom made with a durable canvas, free-hand painted
to achieve harmony with the base of the lamp and finally with an original hand-made lace trim.

ARTISTIC BACKGROUND
Her
artistic knowledge began with oil painting. Followed with five years of hand
pottery with coiling and slab formations. Her artistic knowledge followed with
a two-year series of drawing courses both free-hand and with human models. Over
three years of watercolor courses and to perfect her self-quest in this medium she took private lessons with two well-known
watercolorists. One year of stained glass, washi courses (Japanese art) making
hand made paper, Silk painting with acrylics and many other crafts. All
these experiences will ultimately orient Maria Teresa on the road of self-expression and Art as she sees it.
A
series of exhibitions with other artists followed. In 1996 one of her ceramic
pieces was chosen by Quebec Art Council and exhibited at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
It is the beginning of a long line of success stories.
-
“Art is the expression of our inner self”. Anyone can do as I; if she believes in herself and has the willpower and the endurance to work hard at achieving
what she desires most in her life. The utmost goal is to know, that we were put here on earth for a purpose and that purpose we have to achieve with passion and
determination. What value does Art have:
Art has the value that the artist that is creating it with all her passion, enthusiasm and visualization and the value
of the appreciations of the person looking at the final work of Art. (Art is
priceless, the artist is mythical).
